Weightlifter wins first medal for Vietnam in Olympic Games
Weightlifter Hoang Anh Tuan won a silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games on August 10, bringing
Vietnam
the first medal at the world’s biggest sporting event.
Tuan took the silver lifting 290 kg in both the snatch and the clean and jerk, only 2kg less than the host player Long Quingquan who lifted 292 kg to win the men’s 56kg division weightlifting gold medal.
Indonesia’s Eko Yuli Irawan bagged the bronze with 288 kg.
