Unique works spotlighted at Hue Festival - Trang Tien Bridge

A 15m-long and 1.45m-wide picture made from cajeput bark and butterfly wings is attracting crowds at this year’s Hue Festival in central Thua Thien-Hue province. The largest-ever so far of its kind, the picture depicts famous landscapes and relics in Vietnam’s northern, central and southern regions.
The picture, made by the Khanh Ha private company, features well-known Hanoian sites including the One-Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature and Hoan Kiem Lake. It also includes the Ngo Mon Gate, Thien Mu Pagoda and Trang Tien Bridge in Hue city and Ho chi minh City’s Nha Rong Port and Ben Thanh Market.

The picture is one of four works made by Hue master artists for the Hue Festival.

The other works include 3,254 verses from the famous Kieu’s Story carved on 1,627 white cobblestones and a 600sq.m stage panorama of a Vietnamese village that will feature in performances on the last day of the festival.

The fourth work is a performance titled “The Legend of Huong River” which will take place on a 6km river section from Bang Lang T-junction to Nghinh Luong Dinh yard.

All the four works are expected to be listed in Vietnam Guinness book.
