First music festival for pupils and students

First music festival for pupils and students to be held

The first music festival for pupils and students across the country will take place in two rounds of competition from September 2008 to March 2009.
 

The information was released at a conference by the Vietnam Students’ Association in Hanoi on August 19.

Students can register to take part in the event by email at www.lienhoanamnhac.com. The final round will be held in Hanoi on March 26, 2009.

Winners will be awarded certificates of merit by the Vietnam Students’ Association and receive VND20 million for first prize, VND10 million for second prize and VND5 million for third prize.

The event will be organised by the Ho chi minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee and the Vietnam Students’ Association in co-ordination with relevant agencies. It aims to create a good opportunity for pupils and students nationwide to meet, exchange and show their talents.

The Hue Preservation Centre has asked the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to recognize the Hue royal festivals and dances as masterpieces of the intangible cultural heritage of humankind.
